Integrative art and drama therapy for children with behavioural and emotional challenges: a feasibility study in Jordan

This explanatory mixed methods study aimed to assess the feasibility and cultural acceptability of delivering integrative art and drama therapy to children in Jordan within a school setting. Researchers found that integrating art and drama therapy into school-based mental health programs could provide a structured environment for sustained therapeutic engagement, promoting better long-term outcomes for children.
Children in Jordan experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges face significant barriers to accessing mental health services including cultural stigma, systemic limitations, and resource constraints. This pilot study aimed to assess the feasibility and cultural acceptability of delivering integrative art and drama therapy within a school setting, while also exploring preliminary indicators of benefit for children experiencing these challenges.
