Sri Lanka: Launch of Diploma in Dramatherapy

Sri Lanka launches a Diploma in Dramatherapy, September 2019. This is the first of its kind in the South Asian region, and opens opportunities for those who hold a Certificate in Dramatherapy. The course director of this Diploma programme is Dr. Ravindra Ranasinha PhD. He is the pioneer in introducing dramatherapy to Sri Lanka, and the Director of the Research Centre for Dramatherapy, Sri Lanka. In 2015, for the first time in Sri Lanka, he launched a Certificate Course in Dramatherapy in collaboration with the Family Planning Association. Dr. Ranasinha designed the course content for the diploma programme, and offers only for those who hold the Certificate in Dramatherapy. In Sri Lanka, the certificate in dramatherapy is offered by the Family Planning Association and the Research Centre for Dramatherapy, in Colombo. It is important to note that two government institutions have come forward to offer the Diploma in Dramatherapy, namely, the Sri Lanka Foundation (SLF) and the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka.
